Colette holds her BS in English from the State University of New York College at Brockport and a Virginia Teaching license for grades K-12 and English.  She completed her M.Ed. in School Administration and Supervision from the UVA Curry School of Education in 2003.  She has taught all subjects in grades K-7 including Special Education for multiple disabilities including learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, and Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome.

Colette is a SMART Exemplary Educator and a SMART Certified Master Trainer.  She is a member of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and has presented at the VSTE annual conference and NECC 2009, in addition to multiple share fairs throughout the East Coast.  In August, 2009, she co-chaired the first annual Shenandoah Valley SMART Users Conference in Harrisonburg, VA where over 400 teachers met for SMART professional development.  This year, she organized the Virginia GOALS SMART Conference 2010 which took place in Charlottesville, VA.  Her presentation files are available on the SMART Exchange, where they have been downloaded and used by hundreds of teachers.  She fosters the belief that the use of SMART technology delivers three dimensional instruction, promoting multi-modality learning.

A year ago, Colette joined Street & Co. Audio Visual in Richmond, VA as a SMART Certified Education Consultant.  She enjoys working with school districts to discover interactive technology solutions, providing professional development, serving as a resource to others and sharing her enthusiasm for all things SMART!
